China's tea industry first flourished in Sichuan and then spread eastward and southward, eventually spreading throughout the country. It was introduced to Japan and Korea in the Tang Dynasty, and to the West after the 16th century. Therefore, the history of tea's spread can be divided into two routes: domestic and foreign.
